RockyMountainIndependent.com, Co-founder/Editor | June-October 2009

  • Co-editor of general interest online news magazine devoted to Denver and the Rocky Mountain region. The website was founded by 12 former Rocky Mountain News staffers in an experiment to develop a subscription-based local news organization online. The experiment ended after three months with a solid subscriber base but not enough cash flow to continue forward.

INDenverTimes.com, Co-founder | March-April 2009

  • Co-founder and represenative of journalists in attempted startup of local online news site after the closure of the Rocky Mountain News. The group of journalists involved in the project split ways with the website backers when the project failed to meet its subscription target and funding for the journalists fell through.

  • Produced and edited spot video.
